Everything stays attached to the section it belongs to.
Rewrite the second verse and its chords, its words, and its takes come with it. No hunting through a project folder for which file was which.
Build a progression by ear, not by theory
Chords are laid out by degree, so the ones that fit your key are the ones in front of you. Change the key and the whole song transposes with it. Fifteen sampled instruments, assignable per chord, so a sketch can start sounding like an arrangement.

Words pinned to the chord they land on
Anchor a syllable to a chord change and the phrasing holds while you rewrite around it. A rhyme finder, thesaurus, and syllable counter sit in the same panel, and all of it works in twelve languages.

Loop four bars until one take is right
Record lead, harmony, and ad-libs onto separate layers, then mute, solo, and bake them down to a single stem. It saves to your account as you go, so the take you got at 1am is still there in the morning. Pro exports WAV.

One link, and it plays
Preview mixes your backing track and vocals into a page anyone can open. No login, no install, no file to download. Add an artist name and cover art first if you want it to arrive looking like a release.

Sketch a line and hear it against the chords
Place notes one at a time and play them back over your progression. The editor is locked to your key, so every note you drop belongs there.
A 16-step sequencer at your song tempo
Program a pattern, save it, and bake it into the backing track so it plays underneath the chords while you record.
Every song you started, in one place
Songs group into albums with artwork you pick or art generated from the title. Browse the whole library by album, reorder it, rename it, and pick up a half-finished idea from eight months ago without going looking for it.

Liner notes: common questions
Is LandChords a free songwriting app?
Yes. LandChords is a free online songwriting app. Sign up and you can build chord progressions, write lyrics, record vocal takes, and save two full songs to your library with no credit card. Pro removes the limits when you need more.
Do I need to know music theory to write a song here?
No. The chord maker works in Roman-numeral degrees and shows you which chords belong in your key, so beginners can build progressions that sound right by ear. If you do know theory, borrowed chords, inversions, and Nashville numbers are all there too.
Does LandChords include a chord maker or progression generator?
Yes. The built-in ChordMaker lets you build chord progressions in any key and hear them with 15 sampled instruments, and the AI can generate a progression in your key and genre when you are stuck.
Is LandChords an online DAW?
It is a simple browser DAW for the writing and demo stage: a multi-track vocal recorder, a 16-step drum machine, baked backing tracks, and WAV export (Pro), without the mixing and effects depth of a full DAW. Nothing to install.
Can I organize songs into albums and share them?
Yes. Everything you write lands in one library that you can group into albums with cover art, then browse by album or by song. Any song can be published to a link that plays in a browser.
