This Privacy Policy explains how LandChords (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our website and web application (the “Service”). We keep this policy as plain as possible because we believe you deserve to understand exactly what happens with your data.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in via Google, your Google profile name and profile photo. We store a hashed representation of your password; we never store it in plain text.
Song data. We store the songs, chord progressions, lyrics, section structures, and vocal layer metadata you create in the app. This data is associated with your account and stored in our database.
Audio recordings. If you record vocal takes in Vocal Studio, the audio files are uploaded to and stored in our cloud storage. These recordings belong to you.
Usage information. We collect basic technical data to operate the Service: browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and approximate timezone. We do not use fingerprinting techniques.
Communications. If you contact us by email, we retain those communications to assist you and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your song content, lyrics, or recordings to train machine learning models without your explicit consent.

Your song content, lyrics, and recordings are never shared with other users unless you explicitly use a sharing feature.
LandChords offers optional AI-powered features for Pro subscribers: Lyric Helper, Chord Maker, and Analyze Song. These features are exclusive to active Pro subscribers.
What data is sent. When you use an AI feature, the relevant song content — including your lyrics, chord symbols, and section structure — is transmitted to Google’s Gemini API for processing. No audio recordings are sent to Gemini.
Google as a sub-processor. AI requests are processed by Google Gemini via Google’s Generative Language API. Your use of AI features is also subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Data retention for AI requests. We do not persistently store song content sent to Gemini beyond standard server-side request logs retained for a limited operational period. Google’s own handling of API requests is governed by its privacy policy linked above.
Training. We do not use your lyrics, chords, or song content to train any machine learning models.
Rhyme finder (Datamuse). The Lyric Helper’s rhyme suggestions are powered by the Datamuse API. When you use the rhyme finder, only the single word you type is sent to Datamuse to look up rhymes — your lyrics, chords, and other song content are not transmitted.
To protect our sign-up and sign-in forms from automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible bot-detection service. Turnstile runs a challenge in the background when you interact with an auth form — no checkbox or puzzle is shown. As part of this process, Cloudflare may collect browser and device signals (such as user-agent, IP address, and interaction patterns) to distinguish humans from bots.
Cloudflare's handling of this data is governed by the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum. By using LandChords, you acknowledge that bot-protection checks are processed by Cloudflare in accordance with that policy.
LandChords uses browser localStorage to remember your session and preferences (such as the last-opened song). We use minimal, functional cookies required for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
We retain your account data and song content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and song content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes. Audio recordings stored in cloud storage are deleted within the same timeframe.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you promptly if a data breach affects your personal information as required by law.

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your data may be stored and processed in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission) to protect your information to the same standard described in this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a prominent notice in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
