Transpose

Transpose a song to any key in one click

Singers do not all live in the same key. In the LandChords all-in-one songwriting workspace, every chord is stored by its scale degree, so moving a song to a friendlier key is one click and your lyrics and takes come along for the ride.

Why degree-based transposing is different

Most chord charts are just text, so transposing means rewriting every chord by hand and hoping you did the math right. LandChords stores each chord as a Roman-numeral degree (I, IV, V, vi), so when you change the key the app rewrites the chord names for you and the harmony stays correct.

Find the key that fits the voice

Try a verse in a few keys until it sits in a comfortable range, then keep going. The progression, the colour coding, and the lyric anchoring all stay intact while the chord names update.

Friendly with capos and Nashville numbers

Because the song already thinks in degrees, it doubles as a Nashville-number chart. Read the numbers when you play with a band, or pick a key that matches a capo position you like.

Frequently asked questions

How do I transpose a song in LandChords?

Change the song key from the toolbar. Every chord is stored by scale degree, so the whole song moves to the new key in one step.

Will transposing change my lyrics or vocal takes?

No. Transposing only renames the chords to the new key. Your lyrics, chord anchoring, and recorded takes stay exactly where they are.

Is transposing free?

Yes. Transposing is part of the chord builder and is available on every plan.
